  • Products

Convert your detailed image or logo into a full-color design via our dye sublimation patches. Ideal for complex designs or small lettering, our dye sublimation patches add the perfect pop of color to your jacket, shirt, or uniform.
How it’s Made
Unlike traditional screen printing, sublimation patches require special ink that penetrates and bonds to patch fabric. The result is long-term durability and unlimited color options that produce near photographic image quality.
Once the design is selected and the dye adheres, the next step is to choose a finish. We offer a traditional merrowed or a laser die cut border option.
After the design is complete, we use the same patch backing options for our dye sublimation patches that we do for our embroidered patches. You may also choose our two step process that combines 100% embroidery and dye sublimation for a unique high quality finished patch. We highly recommend this option for small but complex designs that require an embroidered look.
Size Options
Our dye sublimation patches are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Check out our sample gallery to see examples of how we make our patches and the sizes that are available.
Are They Right For You?
If you have an organization that you’d like to brand, a sports uniform you need to properly advertise, then our sublimation patches are the perfect fit for you. No matter what your reason for choosing them, you can expect the highest quality photographic image quality for your design. Capture the finer details and gradients of your design with our dye sublimation patches. Get the clean and crisp look you’re after, with us.

All the finer details and excessive colors are done with dye sublimation to create a beautiful finished patch look.

Woven patches

  • June 29 , 2017
  • Products

As an alternative to embroidery we can turn your design into a woven patch. Woven patches have a slightly different look and texture than an embroidered patch. Which patch you choose is a matter of personal preference. Woven patches use a finer thread count so they have have a tighter woven 100% covered finish to them. We prefer to use woven patches on designs that have fine details and very small lettering. This helps to truly capture the various fine details without compromising on the patch quality. They also have a very flat and smooth two dimensional surface unlike the three dimensional raised effect that you get with an embroidered patch. Woven patches can also be used for achieving photographic realism. They are ideal for those of you who want to get patches with designs that use gradients, landscapes and human faces on them, even in very small spaces. Unlike embroidered patches where we can use 12 colors and go very large in patch size, woven patches are more limited size and thread colors. Woven patches can be finished with a laser cut border or if the patch shape will allow a merrowed border. Patch backing options are the same as with embroidered patches. We can use heat seal (iron on), plastic, adhesive (double sided tape), or Velcro backing (hook and loop sides). Deciding between a woven patch and embroidered patch is totally up to you depending on your requirements and needs. If you need assistance deciding between either woven or embroidered patches then please speak to one of our customer service representatives for assistance.

Chenille patches

  • Products

Chenille is a fabric made with silk thread used in combination with wool or cotton and sewn in tightly woven loops to give a three dimensional look. The way we manufacture our chenille patches is by using a combination of chenille background with embroidered thread for the details. For border choices on your chenille patches we can use either a traditional embroidery outline border, thick fuzzy chenille border, or a laser cut felt border. Most chenille patches are done with a standard felt cut border on their finished chenille product. Chenille patches are most commonly used on varsity jackets or letterman jackets, as well as cheer leading sweaters and uniforms. A chenille letter which is also known as a varsity letter or an award letter, is the standard way to show spirit and accomplishment. You can choose between single felt, double felt, or even triple felt chenille letters and patches. The felt is the sturdy background on which the chenille is stitched. Single felt is the least expensive option where double felt has a layered look and will hold up better over time. We have also used chenille on motorcycle patches as well as various other sports organizations that use custom made patches. We have over twenty basic chenille thread and felt colors to choose from, as well as over three hundred embroidery thread colors for the patch details. Chenille patch backing options include heat seal, plastic, adhesive, or Velcro. There are a number of quantity discounts available on chenille letters, numbers, and custom patches. You can have your custom chenille products delivered in as little as two weeks versus six to eight weeks from many of our competitors. There is a six piece minimum order on all of our custom made chenille patches. Let us be your one stop for chenille appliques, custom chenille-embroidery patches, or chenille award letters and chenille number patches.

Feel free to look through our chenille patches samples page. Chenille patch designs can be done with embroidery for a more finished look on varsity jackets. This means that with embroidery the same chenille design can be done with more details if needed. The background of the chenille patch will be felt which gives a clean flat finished look on the edges. For the background there are multiple felt color choices to choose from. If you are looking for a raised three dimensional patch, then chenille patches can be a great choice. Chenille patches are a popular choice on school varsity jackets. These patches are thicker than embroidered patches.

  • Samples

Feel free to look through our woven patches samples page. Woven patch designs can be done with more details then embroidered patches. This means that the same design can be done as a smaller size patch if needed. The background of the woven patch will have a tighter weave, which gives a clean flat finished look. If you are looking for a raised three dimensional patch, then embroidered patches would be a better choice. Woven patches are becoming a popular choice with BJJ schools. These patches are thiner than embroidered patches so they interfere less with gripping the gi, and are more comfortable while training and competing.

Embroidery Types
Are you looking for a patch that’s 100% embroidery? Or would you like a blended patch that’s 75% or less embroidered? Figure out what you want your patch’s final version to look like and then go from there.
-Patch Size
The size of your patch directly relates to the options you can add-on. The bigger the patch, the more expensive these options become, so be aware of that moving forward.
-Embroidery Patch Backings
We offer everything from Velcro, magnetic, to iron-on patch backings, but what you need is based on the purpose of the patch. Well-worn clothing requires the strongest patch backing available. Conversely, lightly worn or one-off items might not require as strong of a backing.
-Special Embroidery Threads & Borders
Want to highlight your custom logo with a bright color? One of the best ways to do so is with special embroidery threads. Don’t forget about this option if you want a stand-out patch.
-Artwork
If you have a unique request you want your artist to follow, be sure to let them know up front. If you can, sketch out the artwork in advance as this is an additional option that could get expensive.

Embroidery Patch Backings

  • June 23 , 2017
  • Additional Options

When looking at the best patch backings for your order, there is much to consider. We offer multiple patch backings for you to choose from because we recognize the need to have quality options. The following is a brief overview of the type of patch backings we offer and what to keep in mind when choosing the right one for your patches.
Available Embroidery Patch Backings
-Adhesive. Adhesive backings turn your patch into a sticker of sorts. By using a glue, we press that onto the back of your patch and then overlay it with paper which can be peeled off when you use it. It’s not a permanent backing, but it is quite secure. This is easily used by ordering custom patches with no backing and then sticking the adhesive directly to your garment. Keep in mind it doesn’t work for long-term use.
-Iron On. One of the more popular options, iron-on patches help stiffen your patch for a better connection with your garment. Keep in mind that iron-on patches can wear down easily if you buy from a less reputable patch provider.
-Plastic. Plastic is preferable if you want to add stiffness to your patch. It’s an ideal solution for any sized patch used for any purpose.
-Hook Side Velcro. Most often used in military outfits, hook-sided Velcro offers flexibility in adding and removing your patches from clothing. If you already have a loop fastener then this is a good option.
-2 Sided Velcro. If you don’t have a loop fastener on your garment then the 2 sided Velcro option is a better fit. It comes with both the hook and loop sides for easy installation.
-Magnetic. This option offers embedded magnets into the patch. They are very strong and prevent the patch from falling off your item.
Whatever option you select for your embroidery patch backings, be sure to keep in mind it’s function, durability, and convenience.
